ROUTE 53 VENTURES (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates stolencars.co.za, a South African vehicle protection comparison platform. We are a Responsible Party as defined under the Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
Our designated POPIA Information Officer handles all data-related requests:
Quote requests: First name, surname, email, mobile number, suburb, province – to match you with licensed providers and deliver your quote.
BOLO reports: Vehicle details (make, model, year, colour, registration, VIN), theft location, date, SAPS case number, photos, and your contact details – to create and broadcast the stolen vehicle alert. Your contact details are never published publicly.
BOLO subscribers: Name and email – solely to send stolen vehicle alerts. Unsubscribe anytime.
Technical data: IP address and browser type – for security purposes only.
We process your data on the basis of your consent (you voluntarily submit your details), legitimate interest (operating our platform), and legal obligation where required by law.
We use your information to submit quote requests to licensed SA providers, broadcast BOLO alerts, send confirmation emails, and improve our platform. We do not sell your personal information.

All third-party operators are bound by Data Processing Agreements in accordance with POPIA Section 20–22.
We have formal Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) in place with all operators who process personal information on our behalf. Partners and clients requiring copies of our DPAs may request them at info@stolencars.co.za.
